COTTONWOOD:    This past Friday we traveled to Birmingham, Jason McCorkle, Josh Fails and I to pick up Brantley Bradley from Chidlren's Hospital.

We were nice and let Stephanie their son, Kay, and Emily ride home with us!

We got home and as I picked Brantley up from the van he quickly hollered in pain. The shunt was in his stomach and the way I picked him up hurt him. I had to place his legs over my arm in a chair like position to carry him inside. He wanted to get on the couch at his home.

Brantley went to lay down and eased his head down being careful with his neck and not turning his neck. On the way home he slept part of the way and was careful with his head.

On Sunday morning a strong young voice called me and said PAW PAW, I want 4 suasages and bacon from Waffle House and a glass of tea. Having just left the Waffle House I turned around, placed his order ( Emily and Josh also ) and delivered it to their home.

Brantley had regained some energy and movement just since Friday night.

It was Kay Fails birthday. They went to Emily and Josh that afternoon. Chip carried the golf cart and rode Brantley around. I saw him tonight and he had a good day.

From where Brantley was at to where he is today. Credit goes to the prayers lifted up for this little man, and a lot of people from all over prayed for him.

Credit also goes to the quick reactive thinking and knowledge of Southeast Health Dr. Fred Pich. A long time friend of mine who started as a medic on Pilcher Ambulance, to teaching EMS at Wallace College to Medical School. Today he serves as Chief Physician of the Emergency Department of Southeast Health. Fred was also in our wedding.

It was Fred Pich's quick actions that Brantley is alive today.

And to my long time friend and best man in our wedding, Mark Reynolds and the crew of Survival Flight. The speed they were at Southeast Health. When I knew Mark Reynolds was on the flight I knew Brantley was in great hands as was Emily for the flight.

Then comes the test of faith. You are at a wonderful place, Children's Hospital. But our grandson is about to have someone operate on him we do not know. My personality I am accustom to solving problems. This was one problem out of my hands and nothing I could do.

A grown man here folks, I weeped and weeped over Brantley.

Friday night when I left Brantley at home I weeped. Talked with my son about his condition. And he gave me a lot of words of encouragement. Then Sunday morning when I heard that strong voice want breakfast, no one could have stopped me from getting it.

THANKS TO EVERYONE. He is progressing and a answer to prayer.
