DALE - HOUSTON COUNTY: Around 11:30 PM.. Houston County 911 dispatched Deputies to Wicksburg for a vehicle pursuit that was heading towards Houston County.
Dispatched advised Daleville Police were in pursuit on US 84 and approaching Hwy 123. Deputies responded to the area and spotted the vehicle heading eastbound at a high rate of speed.
Deputies joined the pursuit and the vehicle turned around and headed back westbound towards Dale County.
Just before making it back to hwy 123 deputies were able to deploy spike strips to end the pursuit. The driver hit the strips but refused to stop. When deputies attempted to box the vehicle in and stop it the driver spun out in the grass.
A Daleville and Alabama Trooper attempted to reach the driver but the driver floored the vehicle almost striking the two officers. The driver struck one Houston County vehicle and the order was given to take the vehicle out.
Deputies used a Pitt maneuver and got the vehicle stopped. The driver was taken into custody. Wicksburg Rescue responded to check the driver for a cut to the elbow.
No Law Enforcement officers were injured in the incident.
