DOTHAN: As Dothan 911 kept updating the worse the situation seemed.
Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire Engine 9 ( Technology Drive ) to a vehicle on fire at Eagle Ridge Apartments on Murray Road.
Dothan 911 then upgraded vehicle five feet from apartments. A second vehicle is on fire. A gas tank exploded.
The first Dothan Police Officer began to evacuate the residents of the apartments in front of the vehicles and cautioned officers approaching to the danger.
Dothan 911 upgraded and rolled multiple fire units. This structure was a multi family two story brick apartment complex. Therefore based on how this fire was progressing Dothan 911 dispatched units in order to handle the worse case.
Shortly after Dothan Fire Engine 9 arrived they reported for units to cancel emergency response except for Engine 3 ( Westgate ) and all other units return to service.
Dothan Fire Batallion Chief Keith Gassiter requested a Dothan Fire Marshall be dispatched to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
Multiple Police and Fire units on the scene quickly and scene contained. The vehicle on fire was in a line of cars in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
