HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning Kevin Saffold appeared in Circuit Court in Houston County before 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge John John Steensland.
Saffold appeared to be sentenced on offenses he was found guilty of in 2022 by a jury of 12. The charges were Financial Exploitation of the Elderly.

Saffold then hired Attorney Jim Parkman to represent him in sentencing.
While on bond awaiting sentencing Saffold was arrested by Houston County Sheriff Deputies in a separate incident in the Houston County Courthouse. A condition of bond is not to be arrested on another offense. Saffold’s bond was revoked and he was remanded to the custody of the Houston County Sheriff. That sometime the first of December.
This morning 20th Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Black represented the State of Alabama in the sentencing. Defense Attorney Jim Parkman represented Saffold.
Parkman argued for a sentence of 20 years or less while Goodman argued for a stiffer sentence.
20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Steensland handed down a sentence of 25 years to Kevin Saffold. Following sentencing Saffold was returned to the Houston County Jail where he will await transfer to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
While Saffold has the right to appeal his case, any sentence that exceeds 20 years the defendant is not eligible for an appeal bond. Saffold will remain in the custody of the Houston County Sheriff or Alabama Department of Corrections where his case will winds through the appeals process.
