COWARTS: 12:08 PM. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Cowarts Volunteer Fire to Barfield Road to a grass fire. Houston County Sheriff 911 also dispatched Ashford Volunteer Fire.
On the arrival of Cowarts Volunteer Fire Chief Roger Nall he reported about 5 to 8 acres woods fire, some in the woods. Chief Nall requested Ashford Volunteer Fire respond with the grass truck and requested Webb Volunteer Fire respond.
Pansey Volunteer Fire has a mule for going into the woods to fight fire and was responding.
Chief Nall has a primary engine set up to watch over the residences while the field fire is being fought. Chief Nall reported it is spreading fast.
