DOTHAN:    At 12:11 AM Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police - Dothan Fire - Pilcher Ambulance to an edged weapon assault on TuskegeeStreet, Martin Homes.


Reports were a male subject bleeding from the neck.


Dothan Fire Paramedics only ride in on the ambulance if the patient is serious. The Dothan Fire rode to the hospital with Pilcher Ambulance who transported emergency to Southeast Health.


Multiple Dothan Police patrol units were on the scene. Dothan Criminal Investigation Division responded to conduct the criminal investigation.


Dothan Police made contact with a female behind the apartments. Unknown if involved.


HEAR ‘YE - HEAR ‘YE


WEEKEND BEFORE LAST Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish directed Dothan Police Captain Will Glover to put together a operation to put pressure on the streets.


As a result of that operation 73 arrests and30 plus firearms off the street. Not a single shots fired call that weekend.


This past weekend an edged weapon assault on West Powell on Saturday. Now one shortly after midnight on Tuskegee Street.


While I am just a “dumb ass bondsman” and do not possess the wisdom as the transparent and accountable leadership ( excuse me while I vomit ?) my common sense tells me the plan worked.


So Dothan Commission and Houston County Commission, it is time to fund a specialized unit who has the responsibility of working together as one to combat the areas where focus needs to be placed.


Houston County Commissioner/Sgt. Deputy Ricky Herring it is time for you to be transparent and accountable in obtaining the funding and pushing this to focus. You talk the talk, now walk the walk.


Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish, realize you are not as fortunate as the Sheriff Department in having a police Officer as a commissioner as the Sheriff has a deputy as a Commissioner. Not being critical of the Sheriff, just being for real. Deputies are at Will employees who can be fired for any reason by the Sheriff. 


So I will be direct ... Mayor Saliba and Dothan Commissioners, provide the funding to Dothan Police, like yesterday. 


Chief Parrish put his foot down. To keep it down get him the funding. Because we refuse to allow Dothan - Houston County to be like Montgomery and Birmingham.


TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE - POSSIBLE PART TWO TOMORROW


Whoever is the responsible group that accepted the responsibility to keep Commissioner/Deputy Ricky Herring transparent and accountable, well.... stay tuned????????????????????
