HOUSTON COUNTY - SOUTHERN JUNCTION: 11:55 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Southern Junction Volunteer Fire Department, Town of Rehobeth Fire - Rescue, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA Troopers to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 109 and Providence Road.
Houston County Sheriff 911 also dispatched Wiregrass Electric to the scene because of downed power lines.
On the arrival of emergency units they found downed power lines and several grass fires between Providence Road and New Hope Road.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies closed Highway 109 and New Hope Road Road wgile volunteer fireman closed Providence Road and New Hope Road.
In 28 minutes from the call hitting the Sheriff 911 Center Wiregrass Electric was on the scene. The utility companies are an important part of the emergency response units.
The victim self extricated and was not injured.
The vehicle came to rest under the shed of a storage building.
ALEA Troopers in charge of the accident investigation.
