FROM DOTHAN-HOUSTON COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR CHRIS JUDAH

The instability of this storm cell continues to be a major issue.  The Houston County area will see heavy winds throughout tonight into the early morning hours and an actual cell entering around 5am.  This will bring heavy winds 35-55 mph.  Rain may be heavy but blow through quickly.  We are monitoring possible tornado activity as it may occur but is lower than previous thought. Roadways will be an issue from 5am-9am.  Dothan and Houston County Schools will delay 2 hours. Remember they have busses on roadways so for safety concerns of drivers, staff and students that decision was made. Vegetation is very wet so wind gusts could easily cause downs trees and debris...
