4:02 PM... Working Structure Fire at 1502 East Newton

DOTHAN: At 4:02 PM... Multiple Dothan Fire Engines responded to a structure fire at 1502 East Newton. First reports that someone was still inside. By standers were able to get the female out of the apartment unharmed.
Engine 1 arrived and reported light smoke showing. Firefighters made entry and located a small fire in the kitchen area of the apartment.
Engine 1 advised they had water on the fire with fire knock down. Truck 1 and Engine 1 did a quick search to ensure everyone did make t out okay.
Medics from another Engine and Pilcher’s checked on the female to ensure she was okay. The 1500 block of East Newton is closed and will remain closed until the hose and equipment are cleared.
