4:18 PM Large Woods Fire On Highway 95

HOUSTON COUNTY: At 4:18 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Columbia Fire to Highway 95 near Nuclear Plant Road to a large outdoor fire.
When Columbia Fire arrived the on scene commander requested additional assistance. Responding to assist were members of Webb Fire, Pansey Fire, and Gordon Fire.
Shortly after the on scene commander requested the assistance of Alabama Forestry. Mr. Brady Dunn responded with the bull dozier to cut fire breaks. The land where the fire was located is about a 160 acre plot.
The fire units fought a fire adjacent to this location in the last few days.
Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah was on the scene. EMA brought water and ice for the fireman and coordinated water access to fill the trucks on private property.
The fireman are volunteers and spent their Sunday afternoon in the service of others.
