DOTHAN: 5:28 PM A Dothan Police Patrol Officer followed a white Ford Expedition for a distance.
Based on the driving of the driver the Dothan Police Patrol Officer made the decision to stop the vehicle.
The Dothan Officer activated his blue lights and the driver of the Ford Expedition made the conscious decision not to stop and continued to drive.
The Dothan Police Patrol Officer then activated his siren along with the blue lights. The female driver "in front of" the blue lights and not the officer "under the blue lights" contined on.
Now this is a chase. The speeds were low, like 30 MPH.
The vehicle then turned south on Third Avenue. Another Dothan Police Officer was somewhere around Guilford Street with spike strips and about to deploy them. Spike strips bust your tires.
Apparently the female saw those and knew what was about to take place and slammed on brakes at Pleasant and Third Avenue.
The driver was in a condition, possibly alcohol or drugs, where a field sobriety test was not possible. The female driver was taken into custody where a search warrant will possibly be obtained to see what is in her system.
There were no injuries. Dothan Police Captain Racheal David was on the scene along with several Dothan Officers.
