DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY:    5:34 PM     Earlier today RSN promised a story. We waited so others had to go get the documents on their own and the places were closed which had the documents.

On Monday the Houston County Commission  admitted they were not transparent.

Today we obtained the documents from the City of Dothan from that were from 1957 that shows the City of Dothan purchase of land, June 2, 1958 from J.S. Warrick and wife Nell Codgell Warrick. While the deed represents $ 10.00, in those years the actual purchase price was not listed.

The Act approved by the Alabama Legislature in September 1957 which authorized appropriations of money for aiding counties and municipalities in constructing and equipping facilities suitable for housing livestock shows, agricultural and industrial displays and advancement of agriculture.

The minutes of the Dothan Commission Meeting held on December 20, 1957, where it states the committee appointed November 26, 1957 to locate a site for the Houston County Agricultural Center reported two sites which would be suitable, and acceptable to the state, county and city authorities. One was the 40 acres where the Houston County Farm Center is located now.

So Resolution 2179 in writing recorded in Ordianance Book 10, page 93 which authorized the execution of the agreement to purchase the land for $ 35,000.00.

On July 10, 1958 the Houston County Board of Revenue and Control conveyed interest to the City of Dothan to total the $ 35,000.00 purchase.

On July 28, 1958 in the minutes of the Dothan City Commission there was discussion of conveying the City of Dothan's interest to Houston County, but "no decision was reached until an adjourned meeting at 5:00 PM on this date."

NOTE OF INTEREST, this meeting the City of Dothan passed a resolution making prostitution against the law.

The $ 35,000.00 invested by the City of Dothan in 1957 - 1958 - 1959, I am told by those who should know, that is worth around $ 400,000.00 today.

Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver and members of the Houston County Commission feel the City of Dothan will sign a quit claim deed without any money transferred for the Houston County Commission to sell the Houston County Farm Center.

The Houston County Commission has not been honest with the public. Chairman Culver keeps saying it was discussed in the budget meetings and keeps saying the 2020 budget meetings.

The 2021 budget meetings were held in secret and there was never a open budget meeting. In fact I was kicked out and they had a Houston County Deputy Sheriff remove me from the meeting which had all Houston County Commissioners present. They claimed it was the Administrator's Meeting they were sitting in on. But the commissioners asked questions. The budget went into affect October 1 and now December 13 they have a offer on the Farm Center property.

They have this in a mess because Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver and members of the Houston County Commission have not been transparent and honest. They have been hiding the truth and it is only because RSN was the first to bust them at their game.
