COLUMBIA:   6:46 PM   Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched multiple law enforcement officers to Houston County High School to reports of a free for all fight.


Columbia Police Officer Jim Mock, Houston County Sheriff Deputy Andrew Goodson, Kinsey Police Chief Robert Jones, and Columbia Police Officer Josh Martin responded. 


When officers arrived most of the crowd had dispersed and no issues were found. The reports to 911 was there was about 125 people present at the game.


OF SPECIAL NOTE this call being reported to 911 as a "free for all" and there were about 125 people present, the municipal police departments back up the Sheriff Department and other municipalities as the Sheriff Department backs the municipalities.


Depending on  the nature of the call and location of officers depends on municipalities backing up each other and the Sheriff Department.


That is why Kinsey Police Chief responded to assist with what was reported to 911. Last evening Webb Police Chief Jimmy Holley responded to the Houston County Jail when the persons were found to be attempting to cut open a space for access to put contraband into the jail. Dothan Police also responded assisting Houston County Sheriff Deputies.


HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF 911 dispatches for everyone except Dothan Police, Dothan Fire, ALEA - Troopers. Pilcher Ambulance has their own dispatchers, but when responding to 911 calls in the City Limits of Dothan they communicate with Dothan 911 and when responding to the assigned county territory they communicate with Houston County Sheriff 911.
