DOTHAN:    At 1:52 AM a Dothan Police Officer reported a firearm assault at Imani Lounge, 512 North Foster Street in Dothan.

In the background you could hear disorderly persons. All Dothan Police units responded and all Houston County Sheriff Deputies. Probably 150 to 200 persons were on East Powell Street, North Foster Street and Headland Avenue.

RSN parked directly across from Chruch's Fried Chicken and live streamed the scene. RSN did not exit the truck because family or friends were apparently on the scene and we did not want to capture their emotions close and were not sure where the body was located.

Law Enforcement on the scene had their hands full with people on the scene, trying to protect the crime scene, trying to stop disorderly persons in several areas, and trying to locate witnesses and suspect information. The gunshot victim was dead on the scene.

Crime scene tape was up in the area behind the Marathon and we specifically mentioned that Marathon was not involved in the firearm assault.

Today at 3:42 PM I received a phone call from a female identifying herself as an employee of Imani Lounge and with the authority to speak for the owner. She called from 334-648-1508.

The first part of her phone call was ok. She informed me the shooting did not occur at Imani Lounge and the suspect had not been in Imani Lounge. All was going ok and I attempted to say something but she never paused or came up for air allowing me to.

Then she made a drastic mistake in the call. She said the owner had money and something about lawyers. Do not remember the exact words but indicating that the reference to the firearm assault at Iamni Lounge the owner would get a lawyer.

At that point I abruptly stopped her. And told her something to the affect she was doing ok until the threat. She informed me it was not a threat. I then transferred her to CLICK. ( Hung up ).

The female then called me back and I answered. She then said something to the affect this call was a threat and she was recording and would do... I then transferred her to the department to handle such... CLICK. She called back several times and I never answered. Because it takes two to argue.

So, let me address a couple of things. First Alabama is full of lawyers and the Courthouse is at the corner of Main and Oates Street. Feel free to jump anytime they want. Furthermore, my name is Rickey Stokes and not real hard to find. Do not take your frustrations out on staff but feel free to on me anytime.

Next, the call was dispatched at Imani Lounge. What the facts are I do not know. Law Enforcement had their hands full and were doing a great job in handling the situation. The last thing they needed at the time was a news person or whatever I am in their way.

Contrary to some public opinions, you do not really know me so you do not know what I do and how things are handled.

And the call was dispatched at Imani Lounge. The facts, law enforcement were busting their buttocks ( are you proud of me that I did not say busting their ass ) to get the situation under control.

As to the female who called me, I am glad to straighten it out. But since you eluded to lawyer, I will wait until Dothan Police release the facts. All I can say is where the call was dispatched to.
