DOTHAN: 8:44 AM At 8:30 AM Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police - Dothan Fire - and EMS to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at West Main Street and Woodland Avenue. Initial reports to Dothan 911 one patient was unconscious. Prior to the arrival ( which was within seconds or a couple of minutes ) Dothan 911 reported patient was now conscious.
Dothan Police arrived and Dothan Engine 3 ( Westgate ), under the command of Captain Tim Adkins, arrived on the scene. Dothan Fire reported major damage to the vehicles.
One person was transported to a local hospital by EMS, non emergency. Dothan Fire Paramedics did not ride in on EMS and turned patient over to EMS for their transport. If the patient's injuries or condition is severe then Dothan Fire Paramedics ride in on the ambulance.
A two vehicle accident with major damage. A lot of debris in the roadway from the accident.
Dothan Police Traffic Sergeant Sallas took his push broom from the trunk of his patrol car and began sweeping debris from the roadway in order for traffic to be re-opened.
NOTE TO SGT. SALLAS WIFE - he does know how to use a broom so do not let him fool you when you tell him to sweep!!!!!
By 8:56 AM Dothan Engine 3 ( Westgate ) had returned to the fire station.
Dispatched at 8:30 AM. It is now 8:57 AM. Dothan Police - Dothan Fire - EMS have responded, arrived, treated patient and transported, roadway swept, one wrecker has loaded one vehicle and opened roadway and the other vehicle that ended in parking lot of the church and working to clean up remainder of debris and tow the second vehicle.
Pretty good response. THANKS to Dothan 911, Dothan Police, Dothan Fire and EMS for quick and efficient service and response.
