1. Uncertainty in the potential path of the tropical wave has increased in the last 24 hours.

We wanted to give you an update on the area of disturbed weather currently nearing the Bahamas. The latest NHC outlook calls for a 70% chance of development within the next 48 hours and an 80% chance of development over the next five days. There is large model spread in the overall path that this tropical wave could take.  This uncertainty has increased over the last 24 hours. If the tropical wave moves into the Gulf of Mexico, it could bring widespread showers and thunderstorms and an increase in surf and rip currents over the weekend and into early next week. If the tropical wave remains east of the tri-state region our impacts would be much less.
