9:40 Fire Fatality Last Evening In Ozark - Two Active Structure Fires

OZARK: 9:41 AM Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Fire and EMS to two structure fires. One of the two structure fires resulted in a fire death.
The first active structure was 1582 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. On dispatch and arrival of Ozark Fire Department smoke and flames were visible. It was an active structure fire.
The time of the first active structure fire was at 7:34 PM.
At 12:27 AM Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Fire - EMS to an active structure fire at 132 Victor Lane, the house next door was on fire. The fire was actually 2141 Andrews Avenue, Apartment 4. The caller was on Victor Lane and 2141 Andrews Avenue is the corner of that intersection.
There was someone inside the residence. Ozark Fire located the victim quickly after their arrival but the victim was deceased.
Ozark Fire - EMS fought the fire to get it under control.
At 5:12 AM this morning Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Fire - EMS back to 2141 Andrews Avenue with reports of flames coming through the roof.
Ozark Fire Chief Phillip Prince and Ozark Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire. UNCONFIRMED at this time if the Alabama State Fire Marshall's Office is assisting in the investigation.
