COWARTS: 9:05 PM. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched a structure fire on Jordan Avenue.
The fire was a building behind a residence where three cars were stored inside.
Responding to the scene, Cowarts Volunteer Fire, Ashford Fire, Ashford Rescue, Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah and the Vice President of the Houston County Volunteer Fire Association, and Houston County Sheriff Deputies.
Cowarts Volunteer Fire Chief Roger Nall announced a defensive fire only. Chief Nall said the fire was fully involved.
Cowarts Mayor Randy Rowland was even helping fight the fire.
A lot of volunteer fireman responded. Chief Nall has been on a recruitment effort and he had a lot of volunteer fireman respond. Chief Nall was excited about the renewed interest in people serving their community.
The structure was a metal building structure which received major damage.
