A Single Vehicle Crash Claimed the Life of a Ozark Man

DOTHAN POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, has claimed the life of an Ozark man. Derek McClendon Jr., 28, was fatally injured when the 2004 Mazda 6 he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. McClendon was pronounced decease at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near the 38 mile marker, one mile south of Ozark city limits, in Dale County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
