BIRMINGHAM - JEFFERSON COUNTY:     In the May 6, 2022 headlines on AL.com.


In 2019 Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall wanted Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway to raid the bingo places in Jefferson County. But the Sheriff said his concern was all of the murders in Jefferson County and not electronic bingo.

Apparently Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall was not concerned about mother's being shot in front of their children or all of the people being murdered and shot in Jefferson County. Attorney General Steve Marshall assembled a task force combined with ALEA and raided the electronic bingo facilities.

But after the raids the Alabama Attorney General lied and had to return the seized money.

BUT MY POINT IS


The murders are still happening. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall was only concerned about the bingo and has zero concern for the blood being shed in Jefferson County.


Threats of gunfire at funerals.


Not once has Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and ALEA assembled a task force to get Jefferson County under control. Marshall's only concern was electronic bingo.


One mother was recently shot while leaving her home with her children to carry them to school.


Either Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and Alabama Governor Kay Ivey are both cowards or they have no regard for human life.


And if they do not know who to get to head up an operation to take Jefferson County back for the citizens, call me, 334-790-1729, and I can provide you with some names of those who can put a operation together and take Jefferson County back.


But Steve Marshall and Kay Ivey should hold their heads in complete shame and disgrace for allowing Jefferson County to get in this condition and their only concern since 2019 has been electronic bingo.




Plan to ‘shoot up’ murder victim’s funeral ends with officers nearly hit by car, firing shots, police say



Jefferson County law enforcement officers thwarted a potential shooting at a funeral for a Birmingham homicide victim.


Officials are now asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who they say tried to run over a police officer during the ordeal.


The funeral for 19-year-old Davion Marcell Hickley, who was killed April 25 in a shooting that injured three others at a large gathering in the 800 block of Third Avenue West, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Brighton.
