ALABAMA:

Alabama just had its worst week ever for new coronavirus cases.

FROM AL.COM

The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 28,540 new cases during the week ending Jan. 8. That’s about 1,600 more cases than the previous record, and nearly as many cases as were reported in the entire month of September.

FROM RICKEYSTOKESNEWS

On December 31, 2020 the CARES ACT money stopped being available. Just in Houston County, with all of the county, cities and municipalities across Houston County, there was $ 7 million federal dollars available for the prevention, response and mitigation of COVID.

But many municipalities ignored the EMS services and some flat out refused to help the EMS Services in Houston County with COVID funds. Houston County Commission did purchase some LUCAS devices and monitors. But that was a small amount of the $ 2.9 million dollars Houston County Commissioners had.

Have you seen any distribution of the $ 3.279 million dollars the City of Dothan had?

I personally contacted Governor Kay Ivey about extending the deadline of December 31, 2020. A staff member called and we talked for 30 minutes. It did no good. When December 31, 2020 hit, over.

Many of the municipalities either denied or never asked what they could do to help the EMS.

Rickey Stokes is not a medic. I am only a "stretcher fetcher" ( driver ) when riding the ambulance. But I have been locked in the ambulance as the "stretcher fetcher" on about 12 COVID patient transports. And I do it for free.

So I send to Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and those making the decisions, I send to every municipality and the county a great big

MULTIPLE - MULTIPLE STUPID SLAP

for not stepping up to the EMS Transport units, big time with the equipment and funding needed.

Rickey Stokes does it for free. None of this benefits Rickey Stokes. But there are men and women, and I assure you it ain't the elected officials, who place their health and welfare n the line for others in treating COVID patients.

But Governor Ivey, Mayors, Commissioners and Legislators have abandoned the EMS Transport community who are locked in the ambulance with the COVID positive patients in transporting them.
