ALABAMA:   On AL.com there is a featured article that pistol permit sales have dropped about 30 to 40 % since the Alabama Legislature changed the law on carrying firearms.

The article reads the Alabama Legislature established a grant program to offset the loss of revenue for Alabama Sheriff's.

While the revenue is important, no matter how much money you give is never enough. So my concern is not the revenue decline but the enforcement decline.

PROVEN many times, law enforcement pulls over a vehicle and finds firearms in the vehicle. No one in the vehicle has pistol permits. Law Enforcement does not find the firearms as stolen so they make arrests for Carrying A Pistol Without A Permit..

As morning rolls around and people start their daily routine they find out their vehicle(s) were broken into overnight and thier firearm(s) were stolen. The victims begin to report the vehicle burglaries and the stoeln firearms.

With the wise Alabama Legislature and Alabama Governor slashing the permit law the officers are not able to make an arrest. And there is no knowledge of the car burglaries because they happened overnight.

And there are more auto burglaries then you realize.

I support 100% people carrying a firearm. Everyone who can legally possess a firearm should have one.

And I support law enforcement being able to perform their duties. And a tool they used, proven tool they use, was taken away by the Alabama Legislature and Alabama Governor.

So while the money is an issue it is not the issue that concerns me most. The tool to use to solve cases is more my concern.
