Panama City, FL. - According to a Facebook post by Bay County Sheriffs Department they were out in full force this weekend ensuring that Bay County roads are safe. There is a lot of issues with many of these squatted trucks that are simply unsafe and in violation of Bay County traffic laws. Common violations are bumper height, headlight height, number of forward facing lights, modified exhaust, noise violations and window tint violations.
They have also seen numerous DUI’s and street racing cases. Our night shift on the beach alone last night conducted 113 traffic stops and issued 55 citations.
They will continue to have special details out all weekend working with Panama City Beach and the Florida Highway Patrol dealing with these safety issues and will release our results next week.
They continue to say, we want people to come and enjoy all Bay County has to offer but we expect people to obey the law and not create dangerous conditions for our residents and visitors.
