Boating Accident On Lake Eufaula

LAKE EUFAULA - BARBOUR COUNTY:    ON Lake Eufaula at Lake Point this weekend several hundred boats in multiple fishing tournaments.


VIA citizen reports there was a boating accident on Lake Eufaula near LakePoint.


At the landing EMS Ambulance and Law Enforcement on the scene. A badly damaged boat.


UNOFFICIALLY and from citizen reports TEXT RICKEY 334-790-1729 a bass boat was traveling at about 65 MPH. Something was struck which caused severe damage to the rear of the boat. The damaged caused the steering to break and the motor begin flipping from side to side.


The two in the boat were thrown from the boat. The two are reported to have been wearing the safety floatation devices but UNOFFICIALLY we are told the kill switch was not connected to the driver. 


After they were thrown from the boat some fellow boaters recovered them while another boat chased the out of control boat and someway - somehow got it stopped.


A boater was seen laying down but unknown the extent of the injuries.


IN EUFAULA,   While I have met the Eufaula Police Chief until this week I did not have his cell phone number. I have been able to obtain that number. Some other officials I do have their numbers but do not have the Eufaula Fire Chief name or number in order to find out information. WELCOME these contacts but do not have them at this time.
