Bonifay Fire-Rescue Dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Crash

BONIFAY FL :On Thursday, January 13 around 5:35pm, Bonifay Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 79 and Interstate 10 involving a tractor trailer and a van.


When BFD units arrived, they found a severely damaged full-size rental van with the driver entrapped. It took Engine 1 and Squad 1 crews a total of 8 minutes to extricate the critically injured driver from the van.


The patient was turned over to Holmes County EMS for treatment and transport to a nearby landing zone for air medical transport to a trauma center. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured. FHP and BPD are investigating the crash.
