HOUSTON COUNTY: Several weeks ago Brandon Bagwell announced his intentions to seek Houston County Commission seat, District 3.
Brandon Bagwell is employed as a police officer with the Town of Taylor.
Bagwell is a lifetime resident of Houston County. Bagwell says there needs to be "true" openess and transparency in government in letting the people know what is going on with their money and infrastructure.
Bagwell pledges, when elected, the openess and transparency will be done and all information available to the citizens.
NOTE: RSN has held these announcements for several weeks. The reason was a municipal election was ongoing with a run off for Mayor of the City of Dothan and Associate Commissioners for the City of Dothan. People were getting confused.
All county commission seats are up for re-election or election in 2022. Qualifying begins in January 2022. There are four districts in Houston County, which includes areas of the City of Dothan.
District Three runs somewhat out West Main to Flowers Chapel Road. Traveling west on FLowers Chapel Road on the southside of Flowers Chapel Road is District 3 - Houston County Commission. Then south somewhat down Highway through Taylor, Rehobeth and Hodgesville and ends somewhere around Willie Varnum Road. Not the exact boundries but a general area.
Houston County Commission races, those residing inside the City Limits of Dothan are allowed to vote on these races. Chairman of Houston County Commission is countywide, and each of the four county commissioners represent districts, which comes into the City Limits of Dothan.
