Sunday, June 23rd & Thursday, June 27th at 6:15AM on the FIRST TEE of the DOTHAN COUNTRY CLUB for a CEREMONIAL FIRST TEE SHOT.

At the 70th Annual Press Thornton Future Masters, Dr. Press Thornton Jr and Johnny Culpepper will serve as honorary starters, beginning the tournament with ceremonial first tee shots at 6:15 a.m. on the first tee at the Dothan Country Club. This will take place prior to the 13-14 age group’s first round of competition on Sunday, June 23rd. Dr. Thornton is the General Chairman and Mr. Culpepper is a long time starter, volunteering for over 50 years. The Future Masters has never had a ceremonial start, but in honor of 70 years, the committee felt it was fitting.

Golf originated in Scotland, a place also known for bagpipers, forever intertwining the two and forming a traditional connection. In keeping with traditions of golf, a bagpipe player will conclude the ceremony with a stroll down the first tee.

Please join us this Sunday at 6:15am and then we will repeat the ceremony on Thursday at 6:15am for the start of the 15-18 Age Group.
