LYNN HAVEN: An Alabama man wanted on Felony Assault and Auto Theft charges was arrested by Patrol Officers of the Lynn Haven Police Department on Saturday afternoon after receiving a “hit” from a License Plate Reader that a stolen car was passing through Lynn Haven. Officers were able to intercept the stolen vehicle in the 1800 block of Highway 77, where they detained the driver, Christopher Adam Grantham, (25) years of age, who listed a home address in Childersburg, AL.
Pursuant to the ensuing investigation, officers learned that Grantham was wanted by Sylacauga Police in connection with the serious beating of another man in their jurisdiction and the theft of the assault victims’ vehicle. Grantham was charged being a Fugitive from Justice and Driving while his License was Suspended or Revoked. He was booked into the Bay County Jail where he was held pending his First Appearance before a local Judge. The stolen vehicle and other evidence believed to connect Grantham to his alleged crimes was recovered with his arrest. LHPD Investigators continue to assist Sylacauga PD in this matter.
The Lynn Haven Police Department uses technology like License Plate Readers to help keep our community safe. Taking violent criminals off the street helps accomplish this goal.
