Chipley Fl Woman Arreted for Possession of Controlled Substance

JACKSON COUNTY : On June 01, 2021, a Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was in the area of Highway 71 and Highway 90 when they observed a vehicle without an operable headlight. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver Torie Dunklin, identified by her Florida identification card, who stated she was aware the ID card did not suffice as a license. Dunklin’s information was provided to the dispatch center who conducted an NCIC/FCIC check and returned Dunklin’s license was suspended on multiple occasions and had an active warrant out of Jackson County for violation of probation involving the same charge of driving while license suspended or revoked.
Based on the information and the admission from Dunklin she was placed under arrest, a search incident to arrest was conducted. Within a purse wallet, the Deputy located a plastic baggie containing a white powder-like substance, a cut straw with a white powdery substance, and a $5 bill containing a white powdery substance. The white powdery substance was field tested and returned a presumptive positive result for the presence of cocaine and had a total weight of 0.2grams. Dunklin was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
