COLUMBIA: In the early morning hours this morning Columbia Police Officer Jim Mock made a routine traffic stop in Columbia.
When Officer mock approached the vehicle the "routine" traffic stop apparently turned into more than a routine traffic stop.
You see, marijuana has a specific smell to it. And apparently officer Mock got that odor. As the traffic stop continued drugs and money were found.
Officer Mock arrested 27 year old Savon Devonte Smith and booked him into the Houston County Jail at 2:53 AM this morning. The charges were Possession of Marijuana in the first degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
