Commissioner Weston Spivey - Geneva County - Continues To Keep His Word

GENEVA COUNTY:    On Thursday District 1 Geneva County Commissioner Weston Spivey continued with his promise as a high school senior when he sought election as District 1 Commissioner.

Weston Spivey said the check he is paid by Geneva County he would donate to different causes in his district, less the taxes he would have to pay on the income.

Weston Spivey has kept that promises all through his term that he has served as District 1 Geneva County Commission. Not at election time, but continuosly during his term of four years.

On Thursday Weston Spivey presented to the Geneva County Board of Education a check in the amount of $ 3,100.00 of his personal money from his salary as a Geneva County Commissioner. The money is ear marked for school security to protect the county's most valuable asset, that being the children. 

Commissioner Weston Spivey thanks all of the school resource officers, Superintendent Becky Birdsong, and all of the staff of the schools to include teachers, cafeteria, those who cleanup, administrators and everyone involved in the school system for the work they do to keep the children safe.

Weston Spivey is on the ballot for re-election on May 24th. The presentation was not one he does every four years, but has done throughout his term.

A lot of folks in politics can take from this young man, who as a graduating High School Senior set a goal of being a County Commissioner, worked toward that goal, reached it, and has kept his word to the people which elected him to serve.
