For the fifth year, Clayhatchee will celebrate “the most wonderful time of the year” the old-fashioned way: with friends and loved ones. On Saturday, December 14, at 5:00 PM, Old Providence Chapel will host an evening that evokes memories of a simpler time.
Guests will enjoy nostalgic moments such as carol singing, a candle lighting ceremony, and story time for the children. Jeremy Elrod, Music Minister at Providence Baptist Church, and Angie Edgette will be featured soloists. The evening will also include an uplifting skit “The Greatest Gift” performed by local talent. Clayhatchee mayor, Deloris Salter, will present awards for the most beautiful exterior Christmas decorations, and Santa Claus will deliver gifts to all the children.
Following the program, everyone is invited across the street to the Rose Cottage for hot chocolate, coffee, and finger foods.
This event is free and open to the public, but donations are always welcome. Old Providence Foundation is a nonprofit, all volunteer, organization that maintains the historic chapel and makes it available for weddings and community events. More information about the foundation can be found on the web page www.oldprovidencechapel.com.
