WESTVILLE – On June 21, 60-year-old John McGlaun of Westville was in contact with a covert Facebook account run by an investigator with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office posing as a 15-year-old child.
During the course of the conversation, McGlaun made several comments alluding to sexual activities between himself and who he believed to be a 15-year-old child. He asked to change apps for communication, promising explicit details if the conversation was moved to a different app.
The conversation continued until McGlaun agreed to meet at the Westville park, suggesting that he would bring condoms and make illegal drugs available. He also told the 15-year-old child he thought he was meeting to come alone.
Upon his arrival at the park, McGlaun was confronted by investigators and placed under arrest. He is charged with obscene communication using a computer to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice a child or person believed to be a child; and traveling to meet a minor.
