FROM DON WHITE

First I want give a BIG THANK YOU to GOD, and then to Slocomb Fire and Rescue...in particular to Brandon Hovey Candy Anderson and Jacob Henderson.

Their quick action last night might have saved my life. No need for details but after a trip to the Rescue Barn, Flowers E.R. and finally into admission into I.C.U. where I currently reside this morning... All is fine now and I must admit, that secretly I was scared and one point said my final prayer to God.

But hey...I am still here and I think that the quick decision by our Slocomb Fire and Rescue team and an outstanding crew at Flowers Hospital and Gods will...I am fine this morning and hope to be headed home today!!

People appreciate and support our first responders...you never know when you are gonna need them. Please understand that this post isnt about me and posting my issues..This post is about our outstanding First Responders in Slocomb...

Have a Blessed Day my friends.

**UPDATE**
Thank you all for the phone calls, text and FB post. Beverly Hathaway White says she feels like an old timey switchboard operator.

I am being discharged and headed home. In a nut shell here is what was going on.

anaphylactic shock:

an extreme, often life-threatening allergic reaction to an antigen to which the body has become hypersensitive.

I was in anaphylactic shock..almost 100 percent airway blockage by the time they finally got the throat and tounge to start decreasing. It is a horrible thing to be awake and watch yourself suffacate and grasp for air. At times is was like 10 to 15 seconds after a breath I stuggled to get another.

As I said...Slocomb Fire and Rescue immediatley saw what was happening and started the medical treatment and trip to dothan..several epi pen and benedryl injections and breathing assistance in the ambulance and more at E.R. they finally got the swelling down enough to let air pass so i could breathe enough to not have to put a tube in.
Brother when you cant breathe and are awake and know it..its a scary thing. I knew I was in a good place...best place to be if I had a total closure...but it is still scary when you cant get air in your lungs.

The xrays showed my throat was severly swollen and very little air passage route. They stabilized me and moved me to I.C.U for watching in case it reappeared during the night.

We have narrowed the possible cause to medication, late reaction to a bee sting, and or a over the counter nasal spray I used before bed.

God Bless you all, and never forget...you never know when you will leave this world...but you can know where you go when you do.

Praise Jesus and see yall soon!!
