DALEVILLE - Monday morning, at approximately 9:00am, the Daleville Department of Public Safety received a call of shots fired at Hidden Pointe Apartments. Officers responded to the area and received a description of two suspects. One suspect fled upon officers' arrival but was quickly apprehended by Chief Investigator Lt. Suiter. The second suspect was found at Woodcreek Apartments shortly thereafter and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and the suspect was captured by Chief Crawford and Lt. Suiter in the McDonald's parking lot. The second suspect's weapon was later found in the area he was observed running through. An investigation followed and we are pleased to report that no one was injured during the incident nor the apprehension of both suspects, who was transported to the Dale County Jail Monday evening. The suspects identified as Kei'Deion Pouncey of Daleville, charged with Shooting Into an Unoccupied Vehicle and Giving False Information to Hinder Prosecution, and Jaterius Groce of Enterprise, charged with Shooting Into an Unoccupied Vehicle x3. During the course of the investigation, it was found that both subjects fired a total of 17 rounds at each other, and both had outstanding warrants through other agencies. More charges may be pending.

During the time of the incident and apprehension of both suspects, Daleville City Schools were placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution, though there was no immediate threat to the schools at that time.
