Desrtin Woman Charged DUI with Property Damage and Child Neglect without Great Bodily Harm

 OKALOOSA COUNTY:  A Destin woman was taken into custody Tuesday following a string of 9-1-1 calls in reference to a reckless driver on Highway 98 heading across Okaloosa Island towards Destin around 2:30 p.m.

     Witnesses reported the white Ford Explorer hitting a traffic sign in the median, as well as guard rails while weaving down the road.

     Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the vehicle involved in a multiple vehicle traffic crash with disabling damage on the east side of Marler Bridge.

     32-year old Katherine Weaver is charged with DUI with property damage and child neglect without great bodily harm.

      Deputies responding to the crashes found a toddler had been riding in a car seat in the rear passenger side of Weaver’s SUV during the incident.
