Did Alabama overreact with bar, restaurant curfews?

For the past two weeks, Alabama has made moves to curtail late night drinking at businesses throughout the state. Believing this will help stop the spread of COVID-19, Governor Kay Ivey’s ABC Board ended on-premises alcohol service at 11 p.m. Adding to the curfews placed by the governor, cities are considering their own measures, further harming one of the most regulated industries out there. We are concerned this could be just the beginning.

NOTE:   


Dothan bars and employees have been calling because this has a dramatic negative impact on their businesses and employees.


The employees are not eligible for unemployment and the bars have mortgages and unable to meet their financial obligations with this order.


And they question the order, most especially when WalMart, Lowes. Targets and such are open for business.


Employees are left with the question of what are they suppose to do.


All the while Governor Ivey and the decision makers continue to draw their paychecks. Some have told me, if the Governor and decision makers force them to close and not be able to earn a living then those decision makers should stop drawing their paychecks.
