DOTHAN:    Communications from Mayor and City Commissioners - OOPS!!! They said nothing about the pay for law enforcement or fire.

Communications from City Manager - OOPS!!! City Manager did not mention the pay for law enforcement or fire. The City Manager did say that the City of Dothan was going to do a study to see where "we" ( Dothan ) is at on salaries.

WHOA!    WHOA!    WHOA!

Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba said on December 31, 2018...

Additionally the city conducted a wage study for all of its employees, one of the commission’s high priorities, Saliba said. - DECEMBER 31, 2018.

Did Mike West steal that study and take it with him? Where is the study that Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba said Dothan Conducted? Why is Dothan having to do another study?

This question is addressed to KEVIN DORSEY, JANESKY FLEMING, ALBERT "THE CHOKER" KIRKLAND, MAYOR MARK SALIBA, COMMISSIONER DAVID CRUTCHFIELD. 

Commissioners John Ferguson and Beth Kenward made it plain where they stand on the pay in a prior meeting.

Dothan Commission Approved:

Adopted the Biennium Operating and Capital Budget for Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021. 

Approved Entering into a 24 month agreement with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce to attract and promote new industry in the amount of $ 600,000.00. 

WAIT - Dothan ( citizens ) pays Chamber of Commerce $ 600,000.00. But ordinary citizens can not attend the Chamber Meetings unless you are a member of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce. Oh well...not my problem...

 

 WATER WORLD EXPANSION TAKES LEAD OVER POLICE AND FIRE PAY

Entering into an agreement with Barge Design Solutions, Inc. for professional engineering, architectural design and consultation services for the Water World Slide and Pool Expansion Project, for a not-to-exceed amount of $195,000.00, and appropriating funds for said services. Approved

Awarding the bid, entering into a contract, and issuing a Notice to Proceed to Splashtacular for the Water World Slide Additions Project, in the amount of $585,000.00, and appropriating funds for said project. Approved

IN CLOSING CITY OF DOTHAN WORKFORCE... you will get a 3% cost of living wage increase. And your health insurance premiums will increase but the City of Dothan will absorb that cost.

I'm surprised the Fire Dept. and Police haven't formed a union. Probably the only way they will ever get decent money.
