Dothan Commission Has Lost Transparency Now That Kevin Cowper Is Gone

Now "FORMER" Dothan City Manager was the person apparently forcing the ASSociate Commissioners to be transparent.


Because the first meeting that Kevin Cowper is no longer Dothan City Manager apparently the ASSociate Dothan Commissioners are attempting to hide.


First let me say, the 4 Dothan ASSociate Commissioners, D1 Kevin Dorsey, D2 Aristotle Kirkland, D4 John Ferguson and D5 Gnatt Pierce did Former Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper dirty and wrong. And for lame brain reasons they voted not to renew the contract.


Whoever is now in charge of the agenda for the Dothan Commission May 7th meeting, has placed under item 25, approving purchases and bids over $ 30,000.00, a seperation agreement with former Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper. The amount is $ 104,580.00.


This should be a regular agenda item. But the ASSociate Commissioners have it hidden.


When this item comes up at the meeting it is normal they do not read each item, the vote on the entire item and do not spell it out. Therefore unless you read the entire agenda you do not know it.


So it took only 5 days for the ASSociate Commissioners to be deceitful.

WHAT IS GOING ON


The four Dothan ASSociate Commissioners voted not to renew the contract for Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper. 


These four Dothan Commissioners gave stupid answers and went against the wishes of a lot of their voters and the business community.


Alabama Governor Kay Ivey will be in Dothan giving praises about the Innovation Center coming to Dothan. Governor Ivey will be in Dothan on Monday giving those praises. And the Innovation Center is becoming a reality because of work of former Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper.



FOR THE RECORD 


We support a consultant contract for Mr. Cowper to complete LOVE DOTHAN. RSN feels that Mr. Cowper had a lot of Dothan going in the right direction and a lot of the community was in harmony on what was going on. And Mr. Cowper had raised $ 61 million in non City of Dothan taxpayer money for the work being down in downtown Dothan.


The more that I have looked into this and other things going on from the Dothan Commissioners, things are stinking more and more.


And that is leading to me to look at the school systems.
