Dothan Fire Department hosts ‘Going for the Gold’ to benefit childhood cancer research

DOTHAN:     August is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and this Saturday, August 24, the Dothan Fire Department will host its 6th annual “Going for the Gold” Family Fun Day 5K/Walk at Westgate Park.


Gates will open at 3 pm and the 5K will begin at 6 pm, with the awards ceremony to follow at 7 pm. The event will feature live, local bands, food, games and inflatables for the kids.


Participants may register for $20 per person and registration fees include a free T-shirt. All proceeds raised will benefit childhood cancer research.
