COMMENTS

Slaughter cows 2 to 4 lower with bulls 5 to 8 lower. Replacement bred cows and pairs steady to firm  . Calves and feeder cattle 3 to 5 higher. All buyers with strong orders and more money creating more activity and much improved demand. We have gained back much of the ground that we lost last week and I think the market is headed in the right direction.   Fed cattle in the West  last week 5 to 7 lower @    1.05 to 1.07, with Iowa auctions @ 1.09. It sure is amazing how a fire in ONE of many giant slaughter houses in the West caused the fed cattle to drop 5 dollars and boxed beef prices to go up 20 dollars at the same time raising the major packers already record profit of 150 dollars per head to over 300 per head. But you know what ? I think we are going to get through it with the market already showing strength. Thank you all for your business and friendship !!
