COMMENTS

Slaughter classes 2 to 4 lower . Replacement bred cows and pairs steady to 100 dollars per head lower  . Calves and feeder cattle 3 steady on calves under 400 lbs. and 5 to 8 lower on the heavier cattle.  All buyers in attendance and lots of activity but lower money. I really thought that the market would rebound this week but I sure missed that one. You know what is really disheartening is that the 4 major meatpackers in the U S, ( and they control 85 percent of the cattle produced in this country), are making net profits of 300 to 400 dollars per head on thousands of cattle every day, at our expense.   Fed cattle in the West  last week  lower @ 100-105 with Iowa auctions to 114.50
