COMMENTS


Slaughter classes fully steady. Replacement bred cows and pairs steady.  Calves and feeder cattle steady to very firm with the better 400 and 500 weight steers 4 to 8 higher . Market looks very solid for the end of the year and the outlook for 2020 is promising. Beef demand is probably the best ever. We hear a lot about the China trade deal harming our industry, but I do not think so. I think the fact that China is buying lots of meat from Australia and South American countries is a good thing because that beef would be coming here to compete with our domestic beef if not for China. We have the new Japan trade agreement which is good and what would do more good than anything now would be for our Congressmen and Women to get off of their rear ends and pass U SMCA. Call them, it is on The Speakers desk collecting dust. I believe this to be the most important treaty to our industry!!  Fed cattle in the West  last week steady   @ 118 to 120 with Iowa auctions to 123. Looks like we are on a good steady path for the rest of this year, which is not far off with December 16 being our last sale of the year, and a stronger market next year!!
