Dothan Police Chief Will Benny and Dothan Police Officers Make About 100 Arrests Over Weekend

DOTHAN:    As I listened over the weekend and today looked at the number of arrests, Dothan Police hit the streets working this weekend.


Dothan Police Chief Will Benny and members of Dothan Police Department made close to 100 arrests over the weekend.  Of those arrests several were for drugs and firearm possession.


Chief Benny has made it clear to the men and women of Dothan Police Department his expectations during his tenure as Dothan’s Top Cop. Those expectations begin with the members of the department to be Professional, Courteous and Right.  


Professional and courteous are self explanatory. Right means where you feet are you have a legal basis to be there and what your hands are doing you have a legal basis to do it.  No exceptions. 


In the three months of serving as Chief, Benny has been active. He can be seen at patrol briefings and on scenes. This past Friday Chief Benny was on the streets.


OKAY, Chief Benny was on the street but he is now in BIG TROUBLE. It was his wedding anniversary!!!! He may be Dothan’s Top Cop, but he has a cop with more power than him. His wife ?


Mrs. Benny, thanks for allowing Chief Benny to delay celebrating ya’lls anniversary.


Now Chief Benny is making it clear to those trying to create havoc across the City of Dothan and in neighborhoods. WE ( Dothan Police )ARE NOT GOING TO TOLERATE SUCH BEHAVIOR.


While Friday and Saturday yielded about 100 arrests, this is the first of a series of zero tolerance. The message is loud and clear, do not create havoc in Dothan Alabama.


While the officers understand …Professional and courteous are self explanatory. Right means where you feet are you have a legal basis to be there and what your hands are doing you have a legal basis to do it.  No exceptions. 


Those creating havoc need to understand … not in the City of Dothan. Because if you do, you will be treated professionally and courteous while Dothan Police Officers have a legal basis to put you in jail.
