NOTE:     The drug fentanyl, when it comes in contact with a persons skin death is almost immediate.

DEA has also issued warnings to law enforcement as fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin and accidental inhalation of airborne powder can also occur. DEA is concerned about law enforcement coming in contact with fentanyl on the streets during the course of enforcement, such as a buy-walk, or buy-bust operation.

A police officer (Officer 1) performed a traffic stop and vehicle search. Officer 1 found materials consistent with illicit drugs, including the contents of an unlabeled rubber container. When Officer 1 opened the rubber container outside of the vehicle, a gust of wind blew powder from inside the rubber container onto Officer 1, who reported that the powder was “all over me and my uniform.” Officer 1 was wearing a short?sleeved uniform and no gloves. Officer 1 attempted to brush the powder off and used hand sanitizer to clean the hands and arms.

Within 5 minutes of opening the container, Officer 1 became disoriented and lightheaded, and had “blurry vision.” A second officer called for an ambulance, which arrived approximately 10 minutes after symptom onset. Emergency medical service (EMS) providers assisted with decontamination by washing Officer 1’s exposed skin with water. EMS providers noted that Officer 1 was alert and had elevated blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate upon their arrival. EMS providers noted that Officer 1’s pupils were 4 mm (normal range is 2–4mm in diameter depending on ambient light) and reactive. During transport to the emergency department, Officer 1 noted intermittent symptoms of “trouble thinking and staying awake.” Officer 1 reported “mild blurry vision” in the emergency department, which resolved after several hours. Physical examination in the emergency department noted that Officer 1 was alert and there were “no constricted pupils.” No laboratory tests were done on Officer 1. Symptoms resolved and the emergency department physician’s discharge assessment was “chemical exposure.” The forensic laboratory identified fentanyl and methamphetamine in the powder remaining in the rubber container.

'Enough fentanyl to kill over 14 million people' seized in 3-day drug bust, officials say

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -

Authorities arrested dozens of people this week and seized tens of kilograms of illicit substances, including fentanyl, heroin and cocaine, as part of a multi-state drug operation spanning three states.

Justice Department officials said Thursday that officers from 30 law enforcement agencies in Virginia, North Carolina and Texas seized two dozen firearms, 30 kilograms of fentanyl, 30 kilograms of heroin, 5 kilograms of cocaine and more than $700,000 in cash as part of Operation Cookout.

"This massive interdiction of narcotics, which included enough fentanyl to kill over 14 million people, is proof positive of the power and strength of federal, state and local law enforcement collaboration," said U.S. Attorney G. Zachary Terwilliger, of the Eastern District of Virginia.

The operation launched after a federal grand jury handed down a 106-count indictment Aug. 14. In the indictment, 39 people were accused of participating in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that began in March 2016. Prosecutors said the defendants were accused of a variety of drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin, cocaine base and fentanyl and maintaining a drug-involved premises.

BEFORE PROPER PAY GIVEN TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EMS

I have looked, looked, looked and looked, looked and looked, with the danger and fear of Dothan Commissioner Albert Kirkland choking me, but have yet to find one of the above named individuals trying to save lives or property.

The only thing that I have seen the above named individuals do is summon Dothan Police Officers to place their life on the line in the protection of one of the above named people.

Normally I can find things but I have been unable to determine if (1) Jeremy with The Dothan Eagle told a lie on December 31, 2018 when he said Dothan had "conducted" a wage study, or (2) Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba told a lie on December 31, 2018 when he said Dothan had "conducted" a wage study, or (3) this is a stalling tactic of those in charge, well, I really do not know what to call them but I know leaders is not appropriate.
