Military Appreciation Day will take place next Saturday, June 10, in Downtown Enterprise.
The annual event will take place from 4-8 PM on East College Street; it will include a patriotic parade, best-dressed contest, awards, static displays, shopping specials, and live music.
Mayor William (Bill) Cooper will deliver opening remarks and play the National Anthem at the beginning of the event. Senator Josh Carnley will also have a speech for the public attendees.
An awards presentation recognizing local veterans will also take place.
"The Moonlighters will fill downtown with the sights and sounds of the big band and swing era," Main Street Executive Director Mariah Montgomery said. "Bring your chairs or put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the music."
Montgomery said there will also be fun activities and food trucks for the evening of patriotic fun.
The parade will start at 4:30 PM and will be filled with patriotic bikes, strollers, wagons, scooters, and tricycles. Parade participants can enter their parade look into a contest that will take place immediately after the parade.
East College Street from Edwards Street to Main Street will be closed that day from 2-9 PM for the event.
