Female Arrested for Torture WIllful Abuse of Child After Leaving Child in Hot Car

TAYLOR:     Female arrested for leaving infant in car for an extended period of time.

Houston County Sheriff 911 received a call that a infant child was left in a car at Taylor Plaza on Highway 52 without the car running.

Taylor Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene. The child was in the car for an extended period of time without any ventilation.

Taylor Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies had Pilcher Ambulance respond to the scene. The child was checked out and appeared to be okay. Another 20 - 30 minutes though the outcome would have been different.

The mother was inside the call center at that location taking a physical. 

Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators were called to the scene. After the investigation was conducted the law enforcement officers arrested the mother.

Booked into the Houston County Jail at 12:18 PM was 25 year old Kearra Michelle Ricks. The offense was Torture Willful Abuse of a Child. A bond was set for $ 15,000.00 and she has been released on bond from the Houston County Jail.
