On 07/01/2020, Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol’s Criminal Interdiction Unit (C.I.U.)
conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Buick LeSabre near the intersection of Nashville Avenue and
Michigan Avenue for a traffic violation. Troopers contacted the driver, Bryant Marsh, (61). A records
check indicated that Marsh’s driver’s license was suspended. K9 Remy was deployed to conduct a free
air external vehicle sniff on the vehicle. K9 Remy positively alerted to the odor of narcotics. A
probable cause search of Marsh’s person was conducted, and troopers located 56.5 grams of
methamphetamine in the cargo pocket of his pants. Inside the vehicle, troopers located 12.9 grams of
crack cocaine and .25 grams of fentanyl. Due to the amount of the narcotics, troopers contacted the
Drug Enforcement Administration. A subsequent search of Marsh’s residence was conducted. In total,
1.1 pounds of methamphetamine, ½ pound of heroin, 1.1 pounds of cocaine, 160 grams of
pharmaceuticals, and 1 gram of fentanyl were seized. During the search of the residence, a loaded
handgun was also located with the narcotics. The handgun was reported stolen out of Escambia
County, Fl. Marsh was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail to await first appearance in federal
court.
