On 11-14-19 at approximately 1:29 p.m. a Deputy with the Uniform Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Merritt’s Mill Rd. because the driver was driving with his hazard lights on, which is a violation of Florida Law. When asked for his license, the driver, Andrew Curtis Neel, told the Deputy that his license was probably suspended. He also made an excited utterance stating that the tag on his vehicle was given to him by a friend and was not assigned to the vehicle it was displayed on. Both of his admissions were confirmed through FCIC. A subsequent inventory of Neel’s vehicle for towing purposes revealed several hundred rounds of ammunition and a check of his criminal history revealed that he is a convicted felon. Neel was placed under arrest, charged with Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License, and Attached Registration License Plate Not Assigned. He was lodged n the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
