Florida Man Arrested for Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

On Friday, February 14, 2020 a member of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted a motorist who appeared to have broken down at the intersection of Hwy 71 and Blue Springs Rd. The Deputy assisted the motorist in pushing the vehicle from the roadway to clear the potential traffic hazard. After clearing the highway obstruction the Deputy noticed a strong odor of what appeared to be that of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver, identified as Chasity Daniels, informed the Deputy that she possessed the remnants of a Marijuana cigarette concealed in her bra. It was determined that Daniels did not possess a prescription for medical Marijuana, and Daniels was detained pending further investigation. A subsequent search of Daniels’ person, by a female Deputy, revealed a larger portion of Marijuana than Daniels advised having. A probable cause search of Daniels’ vehicle also revealed a little over a half of a pound of Crystal Methamphetamine, additional quantities of Marijuana packaged for sale, scales, and US currency packaged with the illicit narcotics. Daniels was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
